Louisiana Woman Arrested in Connection with Burglary After Leaving Photo Album at the Scene of the Crime
A Louisiana woman has been arrested in connection with a burglary after she reportedly left a photo album at the scene of the crime.
Union Parish, Louisiana – The Union Parish Sheriff’s Office (UPSO) reported receiving a report of a residential burglary in the Downsville neighborhood in January 2022. The victim reported that as they slept, someone broke into their home and vehicle and stole various items.
During the inquiry, deputies discovered that when the victim awoke, the living area was in disarray and various objects were missing. The victim also realized that their vehicle had been broken into. Among the stolen items were apparel, tools, knives, and a cell phone.
The victim told authorities that a photo album emerged in their living room that did not belong to them and that was not there the night before when they went to bed. Deputies inspected the photo album, which featured photographs of a woman, one of which bore the name “Kourtnee Bourque.” Kourtnee Joy Bourque, a 34-year-old female, was identified in the photo by deputies, who recognized her from prior investigations. Several witnesses reported that Bourque, who is homeless, was frequently spotted in the same location in the days preceding the break-in.
Officers drafted an arrest warrant for Bourque. Bourque was freed from a different jurisdiction’s jail on February 6, 2023. She was apprehended and put in the Union Parish Correctional Facility. She is charged with Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling and Burglary of a Motor Vehicle.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
