Louisiana Woman Arrested For Allegedly Shooting and Killing Husband in West Carroll Parish, Louisiana State Police Investigating
West Carroll Parish, Louisiana – A Louisiana woman has been arrested for allegedly shooting and killing her husband in West Carroll Parish. Louisiana State Police are investigating.
Louisiana State Police (LSP) reported that the West Carroll Parish Sheriff’s Office (WCPSO) requested detectives from the LSP Bureau of Investigations Monroe Field Office (LSP MFO) to investigate a homicide that happened at 134 Bran Road on Monday, April 24, 2023, at approximately 7:30 a.m. William Dewayne Copeland, 61, was the victim who died.
According to investigators, deputies arrived at the home of William Copeland and his wife, Frances Gilley Copeland, 56, after she called the WCPSO for aid. When deputies arrived, they reportedly found William Copeland dead inside the residence.
Frances Copeland was arrested and booked into the River Bend Detention Center for second-degree murder and obstruction of justice based on the investigation’s findings and information.
LSP MFO will lead the investigation. WCPSO will aid LSP investigators. The probe is still ongoing.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
