Louisiana Woman Arrested After Allegedly Striking a Juvenile and Two Elderly Victims and Committing Other Crimes in DeQuincy
Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana – A Louisiana woman has been arrested after allegedly striking a juvenile and two elderly victims and committing other crimes in DeQuincy.
On April 4, 2023, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) stated that deputies were summoned to a residence in DeQuincy, Louisiana in regard to a domestic dispute involving a suspect with a dangerous weapon on Friday, March 31, at around 4:30 p.m.
Officers of the DeQuincy Police Department (DQPD), who responded first on the scene, had the suspect, Elizabeth D. Hext, 37, of DeQuincy, Louisiana, already detained when deputies arrived. According to authorities, the inquiry found that Hext struck a juvenile victim as well as two elderly victims at the property. She allegedly repeatedly struck another man inside the home and threw a knife at him. According to their accounts, deputies noted physical injuries on all victims.
Hext continued to physically resist DQPD officers and CPSO deputies during the inquiry, causing minor injuries. She was detained and sent to a nearby hospital.
She was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with domestic abuse, intentional use of force with a dangerous weapon, domestic abuse, aggravated battery, simple battery of the infirm, and three charges of resisting a police officer with force or violence.
Judge Robert Wyatt imposed a $20,000 bond for the other offenses and kept her without bond for the domestic charges.
Detective Kimberly Curran of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is the case’s principal investigator.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
