Caddo Parish, Louisiana - A Louisiana woman was arrested after allegedly assaulting her grandfather with a knife during an argument about cleanliness.

Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator announced the arrest of a woman from Keithville, Louisiana by Caddo Parish Sheriff's detectives. She was arrested for allegedly assaulting her grandfather with a knife in a family argument.

A 22-year-old woman named Carrington Harris, residing on the 3900 block of Fountainbleu Road in Keithville, Louisiana has been taken into custody. The arrest came after an inquiry uncovered that she had allegedly attacked her grandfather with a knife in the face, driven by a dispute about her personal cleanliness habits.

Authorities stated that Harris and her grandparents got into a quarrel following their request for her to bathe. The disagreement escalated when she started damaging items within their residence and subsequently turned off the electricity from outside of the house.

Detectives report that the couple attempted to hold Harris back, but she managed to break free. She then got a knife from the kitchen, which she used to stab her grandfather. After the incident, Harris fled the house and took refuge in a wooded area. A few hours later, she was found hiding behind a house in the nearby area.

Harris has been detained and charged with one count each of Domestic Abuse Battery and Domestic Abuse Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. She is presently in custody at the Caddo Correctional Center. Her bail amount has not been determined yet.

Harris's grandfather was taken to Willis-Knighton South medical facility by Caddo Parish Fire District 6. There is no update on his condition at the time of issuing this information.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
