Louisiana Woman Arrested for Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Aggravated 2nd Degree Battery, Other Charges

Westlake, LA – Westlake Chief of Police Christopher Wilrye reported that on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 3:39 a.m., the Westlake Police Department received a call about a male subject banging on a door screaming for help, claiming that someone was attempting to kill him. Officers arrived and discovered Christopher Kwan, a male subject, bleeding from his mouth and under his chin. Kwan stated that he had been attacked and required assistance. Officers started performing life-saving measures on Kwan until Acadian Ambulance arrived. According to Kwan, the suspect fled the scene. While officers were tending to Kwan’s injuries, the suspect, 32-year-old Keri Bradberry of Westlake, arrived.

Officers apprehended Bradberry without incident. Acadian Ambulance transported Kwan to Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Kwan was transferred to Lafayette General Hospital by Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.

Keri Buller Bradberry was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center for one count of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, one count of Aggravated 2nd Degree Battery and three counts of Domestic Abuse Battery, Child Endangerment.

Westlake Police Department was notified that Kwan was in stable condition, in Lafayette General Hospital. This investigation is still ongoing.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
