Rapides Parish, Louisiana – A tragic utility terrain vehicle (UTV) crash early Sunday claimed the life of 13-year-old Kyndal Vidrine of Oakdale, Louisiana. The incident occurred at approximately 12:06 a.m. on June 22, 2025, along West River Road, south of Louisiana Highway 462, prompting a response from Louisiana State Police Troop E.
According to the initial investigation, a Can-Am Outlander UTV driven by a juvenile was traveling north on West River Road when the driver lost control for reasons still under investigation. The vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a parked Honda Foreman UTV. The impact ejected both juveniles from the Can-Am and the driver of the Honda Foreman from their respective vehicles.
Vidrine sustained critical injuries in the crash. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The juvenile driver of the Can-Am and the driver of the Honda Foreman suffered minor injuries and received medical care at a local facility. Louisiana State Police have collected routine toxicology samples as part of the ongoing investigation.
Law enforcement continues to stress the importance of proper training, safety equipment, and responsible operation, especially for young riders. The investigation into the circumstances of this crash remains open as authorities work to determine all contributing factors.
