Opelousas, Louisiana – February 28, 2025 – Louisiana State Police Troop I is currently investigating a serious injury crash that occurred in the early hours of February 28, 2025, on Louisiana Highway 357, near its intersection with Louisiana Highway 358. The incident has tragically resulted in the death of 86-year-old Anna Landry from Church Point, Louisiana.

According to preliminary investigation findings, the crash involved a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer, which was being driven by 58-year-old Beverly Landry, also from Church Point. The vehicle was traveling south on LA Highway 357 when, for reasons that are still under investigation, it veered off the roadway to the left. The Chevrolet then entered a ditch, struck a mailbox, and ultimately overturned onto its roof.

During the incident, Anna Landry, who was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Beverly Landry, who was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash, sustained moderate injuries and was also taken to the hospital. As part of the ongoing investigation, officials have obtained routine toxicology samples from Beverly Landry for analysis, which is standard procedure in such cases.

On March 5, 2025, Troop I received the unfortunate notification that Anna Landry had succumbed to her injuries on March 3, 2025. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is still active, and authorities are working diligently to piece together the events that led to this tragic incident.
