St. Mary Parish, Louisiana - A fatal single-vehicle crash occurred on December 7, 2024, on US 90 Eastbound Frontage Road just west of Louisiana Highway 83 in Franklin, resulting in the death of 40-year-old Remus Tardy of Baldwin, Louisiana.

According to Louisiana State Police Troop I, the incident happened just before 12:00 a.m. when Troopers were notified of the crash. The preliminary investigation revealed that Tardy was driving a 2002 Lincoln Town Car east on US 90 Eastbound Frontage Road. However, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle traveled off the roadway to the right.

In an attempt to regain control, Tardy steered the Lincoln to the left but overcorrected, causing the vehicle to overturn. Unfortunately, Tardy, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was partially ejected and sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger, who was also unrestrained, was transported to a nearby hospital with moderate injuries. Routine toxicology samples were obtained for analysis as part of the ongoing investigation.
