Iberville Parish, Louisiana – Louisiana State Police apprehended a North Carolina fugitive wanted on serious child sex offense charges during a traffic stop on Interstate 10 Wednesday afternoon.

Kevin Alexander Serrano-Valle, 30, of Clayton, North Carolina, was taken into custody without incident after authorities received intelligence from the U.S. Marshals Service that he was traveling through Louisiana.

According to officials, troopers were notified on April 16, 2025, by the U.S. Marshals Service Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force that Serrano-Valle was possibly operating a Chevrolet Silverado on Interstate 10 near LA Highway 77.

A Louisiana State Police trooper conducting routine patrol duties located the vehicle at approximately 3:15 p.m. and initiated a traffic stop, leading to Serrano-Valle’s arrest.

Serrano-Valle was wanted in North Carolina on charges of Indecent Liberties with a Child and First Degree Statutory Sexual Offense, both serious felonies involving minors. Following his capture, he was booked into the Iberville Parish Jail as a fugitive and will likely face extradition proceedings to return him to North Carolina.

The arrest demonstrates ongoing collaboration between state law enforcement agencies and federal authorities in apprehending fugitives who cross state lines, particularly those accused of crimes against children.

Neither Louisiana State Police nor the U.S. Marshals Service has released additional details about the underlying case in North Carolina at this time.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
