Monroe, Louisiana – In the early hours of October 15, the Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office contacted Louisiana State Police Troop F regarding a single-vehicle crash involving an off-duty Louisiana State Police Trooper. Upon arrival at the scene, troopers identified the driver as David Hamm, a 33-year-old resident of Rayville, Louisiana.
Suspecting impairment, troopers proceeded to arrest Hamm and administered a breath test, which confirmed that he was above the legal limit.
Hamm, who is currently assigned to the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division in Monroe, was subsequently booked into the Madison Parish Detention Center and charged with DWI.
As part of the ongoing investigation, Hamm has been placed on administrative leave and all law enforcement property has been recovered by the department. Hamm has been employed with LSP since 2014.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
