Port Allen, Louisiana – On July 21, 2024, shortly before 5:00 p.m., a serious crash involving three vehicles occurred on LA 413, just north of LA 620 in West Baton Rouge Parish. The incident resulted in the tragic death of 22-year-old Kaleb Boone from Port Allen, Louisiana.

According to the preliminary investigation conducted by Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A, Boone was operating a Honda TRX 400 all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and was traveling northbound on LA 413 when the crash unfolded. In the same direction, a Kawasaki KX250 dirt bike was also proceeding north.

As the two vehicles traveled along the roadway, the Kawasaki dirt bike unexpectedly crossed the center line and collided head-on with a southbound 2006 Infiniti G35. The impact of this collision caused the Kawasaki to continue traveling north, where it subsequently struck Boone and his Honda ATV.

At the time of the crash, Boone was not wearing a helmet. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. The juvenile operator of the Kawasaki was also not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, resulting in serious injuries that required transportation to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the Infiniti was properly restrained and emerged from the crash uninjured.

Investigators are currently looking into the circumstances surrounding the crash, including whether driver impairment played a role in the incident. Standard toxicology samples have been submitted for analysis to determine if substances may have influenced the actions of the drivers involved.
