Baker, Louisiana – Just after 7:00 p.m. on March 12, 2024, Louisiana State Police Troop A officers arrived at the scene of a three-vehicle collision on LA 67, located north of Dyer Rd. in East Baton Rouge Parish. Tragically, two people lost their lives in the crash. The names of the two people killed in the crash had not yet been released at the time this was published.
Initial findings showed that a 2009 Infiniti G37 was driving south on LA 67 behind a 2020 GMC Sierra with a utility trailer. Simultaneously, a 2009 Hummer H3T was traveling north on LA 67. The Infiniti inexplicably collided with the back of the GMC before hitting the northbound Hummer. The Infiniti veered off the road and caught fire.
The driver and passenger in the Infiniti, whose identities are not known, were killed in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of the GMC and Hummer were taken to a nearby hospital with minor to moderate injuries. It is unclear if impairment played a factor, but samples were taken for testing.
The authorities are still investigating this crash. Troopers are asking anyone who has any information about the crash to get in touch with Louisiana State Police Troop A at 225-754-8500, or contact their local law enforcement agency.
