Louisiana Teen Driver Killed in Morning Crash on LA 109 After Colliding with a Tree

Louisiana – An 18-year-old driver died in a single-vehicle crash in Louisiana after failing to negotiate a left-hand curve and colliding with a tree.

Louisiana State Police reported that on January 20, 2023, shortly after 5:00 a.m., Troopers from LSP Troop D responded to a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of LA Hwy 109 and LA Hwy 389 in Beauregard Parish. Aaron Bell Isbell III, 18, of DeRidder, Louisiana, died in the crash.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Isbell was driving a 2011 Dodge pickup truck south on LA 109 when he failed to negotiate a left hand curve. The Dodge veered off the right side of the road, back across LA 109, and collided with a tree.

Isbell, who was not properly restrained, died as a result of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A toxicology sample was obtained and will be analyzed. This accident is still being investigated.
