Louisiana Teen Arrested for Terrorizing After Allegedly Saying He Had a Firearm and Making Threats at Calcasieu Parish School
Lake Charles, Louisiana – A Louisiana teen has been arrested for terrorizing after allegedly saying that he had a firearm and made threats at Calcasieu Parish school.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) reported on March 27, 2023, that on Friday, March 24, soon before 3:00 p.m., CPSO Safe School deputies were called in connection to an alleged threat made by a student at Bell City High School.
During the initial inquiry, deputies reportedly discovered that a 13-year-old male made statements to other students in regards to having a firearm in his backpack and threatened to shoot up the school. During a search of the teen, deputies indicated that they found that he possessed no weapons. He was arrested and brought into the Juvenile Detention Center after additional investigation, and he was charged with terrorizing.
Cornell Guidry, a CPSO Safe School Deputy, is the arresting deputy in this case. Detective Clay Planchard of the CPSO is the case’s principal investigator.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
