Louisiana Teen Arrested for Homicide at Block Party in East Carroll Parish

East Carroll Parish, Louisiana – A devastating incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, July 7, 2024, near Charles D Jones Boulevard, in East Carroll Parish, Louisiana leaving one teenager dead and another injured. The Louisiana State Police/CID/Detectives-Monroe Field Office (LSP MFO) was called to the scene to investigate the homicide, alongside the East Carroll Parish Sheriff’s Office (ECPSO).

According to authorities, 19-year-old Earineca Brown was shot and later succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital. A 15-year-old juvenile also suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was treated and released.

Detectives have identified the suspect as a 16-year-old male who, according to Louisiana State Police, confessed to shooting towards a group of people attending a “block party.” The teenager was arrested and charged with second-degree murder (LRS 14:30.1) and attempted second-degree murder. He is currently being held at the Jackson Parish Correctional Center/Juvenile Section without bond.

The LSP MFO is leading the ongoing investigation, with the ECPSO providing assistance. While the investigation remains active, no further information is available at this time.
