Louisiana Teen Arrested After Allegedly Shooting a Cashier During a May 7 Armed Robbery

Livingston Parish, Louisiana – On May 7th, a teen from Louisiana was arrested after allegedly shooting a cashier during an armed robbery.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office revealed on May 7, 2023, that shortly before 11 p.m. on May 6, deputies were summoned to a convenience store on Springfield Road in Denham Springs, Louisiana, in relation to a shooting.

According to Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard, an investigation revealed that the female cashier was wounded in the upper torso during an armed robbery. She was taken to the hospital for treatment and was classified as critical but stable at the time this was published.

According to investigators, the armed suspect allegedly entered the store and demanded cash, resulting in a scuffle. The 17-year-old suspect then fled the business, but detectives swiftly apprehended him.

The 17-year-old was arrested and charged with Attempted First Degree Murder and Armed Robbery at the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center.

Authorities indicated that this is an ongoing investigation.
