The preliminary on-scene investigation led Troopers to determine Sharp was driving a 2000 Toyota RAV4 southbound on LA 437 [Lee Rd.]. For reasons still under investigation, Sharp’s vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway as it entered a left-hand curve near the intersection of Narrow Rd. After exiting the roadway, Sharp’s vehicle traveled through a ditch before crashing head-on into an embankment. Sharp was unrestrained at the time of the crash and sustained fatal injuries. As part of the ongoing investigation, blood samples were collected for analysis.
Troopers would like to remind motorists of the importance of safe decisions behind the wheel. Please take a moment to speak with your loved ones about the importance of their safe decisions. Remind them to always wear a seatbelt, never drive impaired, and to avoid distractions. The conversation could be the difference in a serious crash.
