Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana – On October 28, around 3:00 a.m., State Troopers from Louisiana’s Troop L initiated an investigation into a tragic collision involving two vehicles on Interstate 12 near LA Hwy 445 in Tangipahoa Parish. The collision resulted in the unfortunate demise of Jesse Hester, a 25-year-old resident of Hammond, Louisiana.

According to preliminary findings, Hester was riding a 2022 Harley-Davidson motorcycle heading westbound in the left eastbound lane of Interstate 12, while simultaneously, a 2008 Toyota Camry was traveling eastbound in the same lane. The circumstances leading to the collision are still being examined. Despite wearing an approved helmet, Hester suffered fatal injuries upon impact with the Toyota and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota remained unharmed as they were properly restrained during the incident.

As part of their ongoing investigation, authorities collected standard toxicology samples from both drivers for further analysis.

LSP said that it is essential to emphasize that motorists should consistently make responsible choices while on the road – never drive under any influence, avoid driving while exhausted or distracted, obey traffic regulations diligently, and ensure that all passengers are securely restrained. While not all accidents can be survived, adhering to these simple precautions can often determine life or death.
