Marrero, Louisiana – Louisiana State Police arrested State Representative Kyle M. Green, Jr., of Marrero, Louisiana, on charges including driving while intoxicated (DWI) and child endangerment, following a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 90 Business near Ames Boulevard.

According to authorities, the incident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. when Green, driving a 2023 Honda Accord westbound, left the roadway and struck a concrete barrier. Louisiana State Police Troop B responded to the scene and observed signs of impairment in the driver. As part of standard procedure, troopers conducted field sobriety tests, which Green reportedly failed.

Green’s three children were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Officials stated that none of the children were injured, and they were released to a family member at the scene. Green himself was uninjured.

After his arrest, Green was transported to the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center. Authorities reported that he refused to provide a breath sample for alcohol testing. Under Louisiana law, refusal to submit to a breath test can result in additional legal consequences. Troopers obtained a search warrant from an on-call judge, allowing them to collect blood samples from Green for further toxicology testing.

Green faces multiple charges, including First Offense DWI, three counts of DWI with Child Endangerment, Careless Operation, Improper Lane Use, and a Traffic Attachment from Jefferson Parish.

The Louisiana State Police issued a statement following the incident, urging all motorists to make responsible decisions regarding alcohol consumption, particularly when operating a vehicle. Impaired driving, whether resulting from alcohol, drugs, or a combination of both, poses significant dangers to everyone on the road.

As the investigation continues, Green’s legal process will proceed in accordance with Louisiana law. No further details have been released regarding potential court dates or additional charges.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
