Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana – On June 26, 2024, Harpeet Singh, a 33-year-old individual from South Richmond, New York, was arrested by the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit (LSP-SVU) working together with Troopers from the LSP Transportation Safety Services (TSS) section. The arrest was made in connection with allegations of child sexual exploitation.
The investigation began when Troopers conducted a standard inspection of a Commercial Motor Vehicle on Interstate 12 near LA Hwy 1249 just after 4:30 p.m. on June 26, 2024. After interviewing Singh and a minor during the inspection, Troopers contacted LSP-SVU investigators for help based on information provided by both individuals. After further interviews with Singh and the victim, investigators were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Singh from the 21st Judicial District Court.
Singh was arrested and taken to the Tangipahoa Parish Jail for the listed offenses.

The investigation is still ongoing. The minor was handed over to the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). No additional information is currently available.
