Louisiana State Police SVU and Federal Agencies Collaborate to Arrest Man for Alleged Possession and Distribution of Child Abuse Material

Sorrento, Louisiana – A joint investigation by the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit (LSP SVU), the Attorney General’s Office, and the Department of Homeland Security/Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) has led to the arrest of a 30-year-old man from Sorrento, Louisiana. Jesse M. Nigro, 30, of Sorrento, Louisiana was taken into custody on November 12, 2024, and charged with possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material.

According to authorities, the investigation began in August 2024 and focused on the possession of child sexual abuse material. The LSP SVU, working in collaboration with federal and state agencies, executed search and arrest warrants at Nigro’s residence, resulting in his arrest.

Nigro has been charged with two counts of possession of child sexual abuse material under the age of 13 and distribution of child sexual abuse material under the age of 13. He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail and is currently facing charges related to the exploitation of children.

The LSP SVU works to combat crimes involving the exploitation of children and human trafficking through partnerships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. The unit also emphasizes the importance of public education and encourages the public to report any suspicious activity.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
