Iberville Parish, Louisiana – Just before 2:30 AM on February 10, 2024, Troopers from Troop A investigated a vehicle crash involving one vehicle on I-10 heading east in Iberville Parish. The incident ended up leading to a substantial confiscation of illegal drugs. Additionally, as a result of the investigation, 37-year-old Gregory N. Jackson from Porter, Texas, was apprehended.
According to the initial inquiry, Jackson was driving a 2022 Toyota Camry heading east on I-10, specifically east of LA Hwy 3000. For reasons that are unclear, the Camry veered off the road to the left and came to a halt on the median crossover barrier. When Troopers approached Jackson, they had suspicions of impairment.
Upon conducting a more thorough examination, they discovered around 15 pounds of suspected MDMA, commonly known as “Ecstasy,” pills.
Jackson was taken to a nearby hospital for observation because he was believed to be impaired. After being released on February 11, he was arrested and taken to Iberville Parish Jail for several charges, including operating a vehicle while intoxicated, careless operation, and possession with intent to distribute Schedule I drugs (ecstasy).
A sample of Jackson’s blood was collected for additional testing. The investigation of this crash is being overseen by the Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division – Region 1.
Louisiana drivers play a crucial part in reporting any potentially risky driving incidents. It is encouraged for drivers who notice dangerous road conditions or reckless drivers to dial LSP (577) and report the incident to the nearest Louisiana State Police troop location.
