Coushatta, Louisiana – A tragic two-vehicle crash occurred on February 22, 2025, at approximately 9:45 a.m., claiming the life of a 70-year-old woman from Coushatta, Louisiana. The Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to the incident, which took place on U.S. Highway 84 near Cut-Off Road.

According to the preliminary investigation, the crash involved a 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by 23-year-old Asia Pikes, who was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 84. The Tahoe was equipped with emergency lights and sirens, and it was clearly marked as a unit of the Red River Parish Sheriff's Office. Pikes, on the other hand, was properly restrained and sustained serious injuries. She was subsequently transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

While impairment was not suspected in the crash, standard toxicology samples were collected from both drivers and are currently being analyzed. The Louisiana State Police have stated that the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
