Louisiana State Police Reminds People of Drone Regulations During Mardi Gras
Published February 24, 2020
In the interest of public safety, the Louisiana State Police would like to remind everyone to refrain from operating small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) also known as drones above large groups of people and parades. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) under part 107 prohibits the operations of sUAS over large crowds of people without a waiver.
Also from FAA part 107:
“You currently cannot fly a small UAS over anyone not directly participating in the operation, not under a covered structure, or not inside a covered stationary vehicle. No operations from a moving vehicle are allowed unless you are flying over a sparsely populated area.”
