New Orleans, LA - Louisiana State Police, in collaboration with the Gonzales Police Department, have arrested a 28-year-old New Orleans man in connection with a series of motorcycle thefts in Ascension Parish.
David Williams Jr. was taken into custody on April 22, 2025, following an investigation by the Louisiana State Police Insurance Fraud/Auto Theft Unit New Orleans Field Office (LSP-IFAT-NOFO) and Criminal Investigations Division New Orleans Field Office (CID-NOFO).
The investigation began after several motorcycles were reported stolen from within the Gonzales city limits on April 16 and 18, 2025. Among the stolen vehicles were a 2006 Suzuki Hayabusa and a 2024 Kawasaki ZX6R, both high-performance motorcycles valued for their speed and design.
Detectives from multiple agencies worked together to identify Williams as a suspect through various investigative techniques. The breakthrough led to search warrants being executed at Williams' residence and a nearby property in New Orleans.
During the searches, officers recovered both stolen motorcycles—the Kawasaki from Williams' residence and the Suzuki from the nearby property. Williams was subsequently arrested and transported to the Orleans Parish Corrections Center, where he was booked on two counts of Possession of Stolen Property.
Authorities have not yet disclosed whether Williams is suspected in additional thefts or if other suspects might be involved in what they described as a "series" of motorcycle thefts in the area.
The investigation remains active, with officials from both the Louisiana State Police and Gonzales Police Department continuing to gather evidence and pursue leads.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
