West Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana – On May 23, 2025, Louisiana State Police Troop A successfully located a missing 16-year-old juvenile from Texas during a coordinated response with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). The incident unfolded when Troopers received a BOLO, or Be-On-the-Lookout alert, for a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu suspected to be carrying the missing teen and a possible adult suspect.
Shortly after 12:15 p.m., Troopers spotted the vehicle on U.S. Highway 190 east of Louisiana Highway 413 in West Baton Rouge Parish. Conducting a routine traffic stop, law enforcement officers identified the missing juvenile, ensuring her safety. The driver, 24-year-old Angel Guerrero of Texas, was immediately detained without incident.
Authorities notified Texas DPS, initiating further investigation and arranging for the juvenile’s custody. Guerrero was transported to the West Baton Rouge Parish Jail, where he was booked on multiple charges, including Improper Lane Usage, No Driver’s License, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, and as a Fugitive for Texas DPS.
The juvenile was transported separately and placed under the care of the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services. Officials stated that arrangements are underway to reunite the juvenile with her family, pending completion of all necessary protocols.
