Louisiana State Police Probe Physical Altercation During Traffic Stop in Shreveport

Shreveport, Louisiana – An investigation is currently underway by the Louisiana State Police (LSP) after a traffic stop in Shreveport turned violent, resulting in a male subject being hospitalized in serious condition.

According to the LSP, the incident occurred yesterday evening at approximately 7:20 p.m. when Shreveport Police Department Officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Broadway Avenue at Hollywood Avenue. The vehicle eventually came to a stop at the intersection of Hollywood Avenue and McAlpine Street.

During the traffic stop, Officers encountered a male subject and attempted to arrest him. However, a physical altercation ensued, which led to the subject being transported to a local hospital. Fortunately, no Officers were injured during the incident.

Louisiana State Police has taken over the investigation, working in coordination with the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office to gather more information. As the investigation is ongoing, few details have been released, but authorities are urging anyone with information, pictures, or video footage of the incident to come forward.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
