Louisiana State Police Issue Update and Release Critical Incident Briefing Video Regarding Officer-Involved Shooting on February 3

Louisiana State Police have issued an update and released a Critical Incident Briefing Video regarding an officer-involved shooting on February 3.

Shreveport, Louisiana – Louisiana State Police (LSP) reported on February 16, 2023, that detectives with the LSP Bureau of Investigations had reviewed body-worn camera footage and other relevant material. Troopers arrested Shreveport Police Officer Alexander Tyler on February 16 based on their findings and in collaboration with the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office.
Tyler was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on a Negligent Homicide charge.

The investigation into the officer-involved shooting at the Shreveport Police Department on February 3, 2023, is still active and ongoing. A Critical Incident Briefing Video (CIBV) using body-worn camera footage and a 911 call has been created.
According to Louisiana State Police, the CIBV contains just facts, and some recordings have been censored to protect witnesses and/or victims or to offer interested individuals their right to privacy.
