Minden, Louisiana - A 40-year-old Minden man died Monday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Moody Road in Claiborne Parish, according to Louisiana State Police.
Adrian Combs was driving a 2019 Mack TerraPro west on Moody Road near Holly Springs Road when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree at approximately 11:15 a.m. Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to the scene.
The preliminary investigation shows Combs was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He was ejected from the vehicle during the collision and pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger riding in the front seat, who was also unrestrained, sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Investigators do not suspect impairment played a role in the crash, but routine toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis as part of standard protocol. The exact reason why Combs' vehicle departed the roadway remains under investigation.
The Mack TerraPro is a commercial-grade truck commonly used for waste collection, utility work and other municipal services.
Louisiana State Police continue to investigate all aspects of the crash. No additional details about the passenger or the circumstances leading to the vehicle leaving the roadway have been released.
The crash represents another traffic fatality on Louisiana roads, where state police investigate hundreds of serious crashes each year across multiple parishes. Claiborne Parish, located in north-central Louisiana, includes rural roads like Moody Road where this incident occurred.
