Louisiana State Police Investigating Deadly Officer-Involved Shooting Near Rapides Avenue in Alexandria

Alexandria, Louisiana – Louisiana State Police are investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting near Rapides Avenue in Alexandria.

On April 17, 2023, Louisiana State Police (LSP) reported that the Alexandria Police Department requested Troopers to investigate an officer-involved shooting on Rapides Avenue and 12th Street, within the city limits of Alexandria, Louisiana. One person was shot and pronounced dead. During the event, no officers were injured.

Officials are asking anyone with information, photos, or video to contact LSP Detectives at 318-487-5911. Residents can also report information anonymously using the Louisiana State Police online reporting system by following this link or contacting the LSP Fusion Center Hotline at 1-800-434-8007.
