Bawcomville, Louisiana – A pedestrian was killed in a fatal crash on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana. The incident occurred shortly before 7:00 p.m. on Louisiana Highway 34 at its intersection with East Bawcom Street.
According to the Louisiana State Police Troop F, 78-year-old Carolyn Hudson of West Monroe was walking across the westbound lane of Louisiana Highway 34 when she was struck by a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country. The vehicle was traveling in the same direction as Hudson.
Hudson suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Chrysler, who was properly restrained, remained uninjured. Although there is no indication of impairment, routine toxicology samples were collected and will be submitted for analysis as part of the ongoing investigation.
The Louisiana State Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, including why Hudson was struck by the vehicle. The incident serves as a crucial reminder of the importance of pedestrian safety and the need for drivers to remain vigilant on the roads.
