Louisiana State Police Investigate Officer Shooting in Scott After Domestic Call Turns Violent

Scott, Louisiana - The Scott Police Department received a call about a domestic disturbance at a home on Angler Drive on Saturday, March 2, 2024, just before 10:00 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a person with a knife. One officer tried to use a Taser, but it didn't work, so another officer shot the armed individual.

The individual was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. No law enforcement officers were harmed in the incident.

The Lafayette City Metro Forensics Unit helped the Louisiana State Police investigators process the crime scene.

Louisiana State Police (LSP) was asked to look into the shooting involving an officer. Lafayette Metro Crime Scene helped LSP investigators process the scene, and they are currently working hard to collect more details.
