Raceland, Louisiana – On March 4, 2025, shortly before 1:00 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop C began an investigation into a two-vehicle fatality crash involving motorcycles on Louisiana Highway 182, near the intersection with Washington Street. The tragic incident claimed the life of 43-year-old Anthony Gambino III, a resident of Raceland, Louisiana.

According to preliminary investigation reports, Gambino was operating a 2015 Harley Davidson Street Glide and was traveling eastbound on LA Hwy 182. At the same time, a 2002 Harley Davidson Softail, driven by 42-year-old Chad Rivet of Larose, was traveling closely behind Gambino’s motorcycle. For reasons that are still under investigation, Rivet’s motorcycle struck the rear left side of Gambino’s motorcycle.

The impact of the crash caused Gambino’s improperly secured helmet to come off. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. Rivet, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to an out-of-area hospital for medical treatment.

As part of standard procedure, toxicology samples were collected from both drivers and submitted for analysis. This process helps determine if any substances may have contributed to the incident.
