Louisiana State Police Investigate Fatal Shooting Incident Involving Officer in Ascension Parish

Gonzales, Louisiana - At approximately 1:00 a.m. on February 10, 2025, the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office (APSO) requested the assistance of the Louisiana State Police – Bureau of Investigations to look into an officer-involved shooting that occurred at the intersection of Louisiana Highway 44 and West Orice Roth Road.

According to preliminary reports, one individual sustained injuries during the incident and was subsequently transported to a local hospital. Medical staff were unable to save the individual, who succumbed to their injuries. No officers were harmed during the altercation.

Details surrounding the circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear. The Louisiana State Police have urged anyone with information, pictures, or video footage related to the incident to come forward.
