LaSalle Parish, Louisiana – A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Louisiana Highway 8 and Louisiana Highway 773 claimed the life of a 51-year-old Enterprise, Louisiana, man on Sunday evening, May 18, 2025. The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. and is currently under investigation by Louisiana State Police Troop E.
According to initial reports, the crash involved a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Kathleen W. Kendrick, 50, of Trout, and a 2021 Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by Roger D. Bordelon, 51, of Enterprise. Investigators stated that Kendrick was traveling westbound on Louisiana Highway 8 when she attempted to make a left turn onto Louisiana Highway 773. During the turn, her vehicle collided with Bordelon’s eastbound motorcycle.
The impact caused both Bordelon and his passenger to be ejected from the motorcycle. Bordelon sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. His passenger suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Louisiana State Police collected toxicology samples from those involved, which will be analyzed as part of the ongoing investigation. Louisiana State Police indicated that impairment is suspected to be a contributing factor in the crash, though authorities have not yet released the specific findings.
Following the incident, Kendrick was arrested by state troopers. She faces several charges, including failure to yield, operating a vehicle while impaired, vehicular negligent injuring, and vehicular homicide. Kendrick was transported and booked into the LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine all contributing factors. Louisiana State Police urge all drivers to be aware of the dangers of impaired driving. Their message is clear: if you feel differently, you drive differently.
