Ruston, Louisiana - A single-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 33 has claimed the life of a 54-year-old driver, according to the Louisiana State Police Troop F. The incident occurred on the afternoon of October 10, at approximately 1:00 p.m.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver, Doshie Goodjoint, was traveling south on Louisiana Highway 33 in a 2007 Toyota Camry. For reasons still under investigation, Goodjoint's vehicle left the roadway and collided with a tree. The impact of the crash resulted in severe injuries to Goodjoint, who was unrestrained at the time of the incident.

Goodjoint was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. Although impairment is not suspected, routine toxicology samples were collected and will be submitted for analysis. The Louisiana State Police are continuing their investigation into the crash.
