Louisiana State Police Investigate Deputy-Involved Shooting With Multiple Injuries

Pierre Part, Louisiana - The Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division is investigating a deputy-involved shooting that occurred on October 16, 2025, in Pierre Part, leaving one individual with serious injuries and a deputy with minor wounds.

Detectives from the Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division – Houma Field Office were called to the scene in the 500 block of Bayou Drive shortly before 4:00 p.m. The Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office requested LSP's assistance following the shooting incident.

According to the preliminary investigation, Assumption Parish deputies were responding to reports of a shooting at a residence on Bayou Drive where one victim had already been struck. Upon arrival, deputies encountered a subject at the location, leading to an exchange of gunfire between the individual and at least one deputy.

The confrontation resulted in one person sustaining serious injuries. Medical personnel transported the individual to a hospital for treatment. One deputy involved in the shooting sustained minor injuries but received medical treatment at the scene and did not require hospitalization.

Louisiana State Police investigators are currently processing the scene and gathering information about the sequence of events that led to the shooting. At the time this was published, agency had not released information about the identities of those involved or the current condition of the individual hospitalized with serious injuries.

The investigation remains active, with detectives working to piece together the circumstances surrounding both the initial shooting that deputies responded to and the subsequent exchange of gunfire. LSP officials stated that additional information will be released as it becomes available during the ongoing investigation.

Authorities are requesting public assistance in the investigation.
