Marksville, Louisiana – A deputy-involved shooting occurred on November 25, in Marksville, Louisiana, leaving one subject in critical condition. The Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations (LSP) has taken over the investigation, working closely with the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office.

According to LSP detectives, the incident occurred on Scallan Street near Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Drive at approximately 4:20 p.m. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still unclear, and investigators are working to process the scene and gather more information.

The subject who was shot was taken to a local hospital, where they remain in critical condition. Fortunately, no deputies were harmed during the incident.
