DeRidder, Louisiana - A single-vehicle fatality crash in Beauregard Parish, Louisiana, has resulted in the death of a 31-year-old, according to the Louisiana State Police. The incident occurred on September 25, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Robert Clark Road, west of Gambrell Church Road.

According to the preliminary investigation, Jaydan Paul Templet, a resident of DeRidder, Louisiana, was driving a 2021 Hyundai Palisade westbound on Robert Clark Road. For reasons that are still under investigation, Templet failed to navigate a left-hand curve, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway to the right. The vehicle then traveled down an embankment and into a nearby creek, where it overturned.

Templet, who was properly restrained with a seatbelt at the time of the crash, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding authorities. The Louisiana State Police collected standard toxicology samples from Templet and submitted them for analysis to determine if impairment played a role in the incident. However, at this time, impairment is unknown.

While the exact cause of the crash remains under investigation, Troop D of the Louisiana State Police would like to remind motorists of the importance of making responsible decisions while operating a vehicle.
