Louisiana State Police Free Child Seat Check Event in Lake Charles

Louisiana State Police Free Child Seat Check Event in Lake Charles
Lake Charles – Louisiana State Police Troop D and the Louisiana Passenger Safety Task Force will provide free child passenger safety seat checks in Lake Charles on Saturday, April 23, 2022. From 9:00 a.m. to noon, at Lake Charles Toyota, 3905 Gerstner Memorial Blvd. Nationally certified child passenger safety seat technicians will inspect child safety seats and assist with proper installation.
When used correctly, child safety seats and booster seats save lives. In the event of a collision, they provide the best protection for children. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the United States Department of Transportation, the use of child restraints has saved nearly 9,000 lives over the last 30 years (NHTSA). It is important caregivers ensure children are properly restrained in an appropriate child safety seat, booster seat, or seat belt – every trip, every time.
The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission and Lake Charles Toyota are supporting this event.
If you are unable to attend but would like to have a child safety seat inspected, contact Louisiana State Police Troop D at 337-491-2511.
