Rapides Parish, Louisiana - The chief of police for Cheneyville, Louisiana, faces serious criminal charges after Louisiana State Police arrested him on allegations of sexual abuse involving a child.
Charles A. Issac, 37, was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center on September 11, 2025, on charges of molestation of a juvenile, sexual battery of a victim under the age of 13, and aggravated crimes against nature. Issac currently serves as the chief of police for the Cheneyville Police Department.
The Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit received the initial report in September 2025 regarding alleged sexual abuse involving a juvenile in the Cheneyville community. According to the police report, the allegations involved inappropriate contact between an adult male and the juvenile victim.
During their investigation, Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit detectives conducted interviews and identified Issac as the suspect. The investigation led to arrest warrants being obtained for the three felony charges against the police chief.
State police confirmed that Issac was not on duty when the alleged criminal acts occurred. The charges stem from incidents that happened while he was off duty from his law enforcement position.
