Louisiana State Police Arrest Mamou Resident for Alleged Child Sexual Abuse Material and Drug Possession

Mamou, Louisiana - An individual was arrested by the Louisiana State Police Special Victim's Unit (LSP SVU) on July 31, 2024, for allegedly possessing child sexual abuse material and narcotics. The investigation led to the apprehension of Trevor Matthews Sr., a 42-year-old resident of Mamou, Louisiana.

Investigators discovered an IP address that was downloading suspected material of child sexual abuse. During the course of the investigation, the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit (LSP SVU) acquired a search warrant from the 13th Judicial District Court of Evangeline Parish for a property owned by Matthews. During the search, child sexual abuse material and around 15 grams of suspected marijuana were found.

Matthews was taken into custody and put into the Evangeline Parish Correctional Center for charges related to child pornography and possession of illegal drugs.

This case remains under investigation.
