Walker, Louisiana – A tragic single-vehicle crash occurred on LA 63 at Steve Hughes Road in Livingston Parish during the early morning hours of August 2, 2024, claiming the life of 54-year-old Dianne Lee of Denham Springs, Louisiana.

According to the preliminary investigation by Louisiana State Police Troop A, Lee was driving a 2008 GMC Sierra southbound on LA 63 when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle exited the roadway to the left, entered a ditch, struck a culvert, and then collided with a tree.

Lee, who was properly restrained, sustained serious injuries in the crash and was transported to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. The front seat passenger, also properly restrained, sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. A juvenile rear seat passenger, who was unrestrained during the incident escaped without injury.

While impairment is not suspected to have played a role in the crash, standard toxicology samples will be collected and analyzed as part of the ongoing investigation.

The Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind motorists of the importance of making responsible decisions while behind the wheel. This includes avoiding driving while impaired, fatigued, or distracted, following all traffic laws, and ensuring that every occupant is properly restrained. By taking these simple precautions, drivers can significantly reduce their risk of being involved in a fatal crash.
