Louisiana Search and Rescue Crews Searching for Missing Boater in Mississippi River
Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries reported on June 9, 2022, that the LDWF Enforcement Division is currently searching for a missing boater in the Mississippi River in East Baton Rouge Parish after his boat sank on June 8.
On June 8, around 5 p.m., LDWF agents received a call about a missing boater in the Mississippi River near Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Agents from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the United States Coast Guard all responded quickly to the scene and searched until dark last night. They resumed the search on the morning of June 9, at daylight.
LDWF will be the lead investigative agency for this boating incident. It is unknown at this time what caused the 16-foot-vessel to sink.
