Louisiana Registered Sex Offender Arrested in Lake Charles for Alleged Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile
Lake Charles, Louisiana – The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office stated on November 10, 2022, that on November 9, CPSO detectives received a complaint about a registered sex offender, Sherman D. Bell, Jr., 39, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, allegedly having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a juvenile. During the investigation, Bell reportedly admitted to detectives that he had sexual relations with the victim several times during the previous two years.
Bell was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center on felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile charges. His bond has not yet been established.
Bell was convicted of rape and carnal knowledge of a juvenile in 2004 in Beaumont, Texas.
Detective Sonny Schiro of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is the case’s principal investigator.
