Louisiana Rapper Mystikal Arrested and Charged with Rape, Robbery, Domestic Abuse, Other Charges

On August 1, 2022, the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office announced that, according to Sheriff Bobby Webre, deputies with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a local hospital in relation to a sexual assault on July 30, at approximately 11:58 p.m. Detectives interviewed the victim, who had minor injuries as a result of the incident. Michael ‘Mystikal’ Tyler was identified as a suspect after further inquiry. Tyler was then taken into custody and placed in the Ascension Parish Jail.

According to reports, Tyler is charged with First-Degree Rape, Simple Robbery, Domestic Abuse Battery – Strangulation, False Imprisonment, and Simple Criminal Damage to Property.

Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office indicated that this is an ongoing investigation, and details are limited at this time.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
