A 22-year-old New Orleans man was killed early Sunday in a multi-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on the Crescent City Connection Bridge, according to Louisiana State Police.
Troopers responded shortly before 3 a.m. on November 23, 2025, to reports of a crash in the high-occupancy vehicle, or HOV, lanes of US 90 Business on the bridge in Orleans Parish. The incident involved three vehicles and a pedestrian and resulted in the death of Logan York of New Orleans.
Sequence Of Events In The Crash
Based on the preliminary investigation, State Police said Logan York was driving a Toyota Camry westbound on US 90B in the HOV lane of the Crescent City Connection Bridge when the car became involved in a crash with a Volvo S60. The impact left both vehicles disabled in the roadway, blocking traffic in the HOV lane.
Before emergency responders arrived at the scene, York exited the disabled Toyota and stood in the roadway, attempting to flag down oncoming traffic. While he was in the roadway, a Nissan Frontier traveling in the left lane struck him.
Troopers did not specify York’s exact location in the lanes at the time he was hit, but noted that he was outside his vehicle and in the path of traffic as he tried to get help or warn other drivers.
Injuries And Medical Response
York sustained severe injuries in the crash. Emergency medical personnel transported him to a local hospital, where he later died.
The driver of the Volvo S60 and a passenger who had been riding in York’s Toyota Camry were also taken to a nearby hospital. State Police described their injuries as minor.
The driver of the Nissan Frontier was properly restrained with a seat belt and was not injured, according to troopers.
Authorities have not released the names of the other drivers or the passenger involved in the incident.
Impairment And Ongoing Investigation
State Police said impairment is unknown at this time. As is standard procedure in a fatal crash, toxicology samples were collected and sent for analysis. Those results are pending, and no determination has been made about whether alcohol or drugs played any role in the incident.
The crash remains under active investigation by Louisiana State Police.
No charges have been announced.
US 90B and the Crescent City Connection Bridge serve as major commuter routes through the New Orleans area, carrying heavy traffic between the east and west banks of the Mississippi River.
