Louisiana Pedestrian Killed In Highway 117 Crash Near Highway 111, State Police Say

Vernon Parish, Louisiana - A 62-year-old Leesville man was killed Thursday evening in a pedestrian crash on Louisiana Highway 117, according to Louisiana State Police.

Troop E reported that the fatal incident occurred on December 12, 2025, at approximately 5:54 p.m. at the intersection of Louisiana Highway 117 and Louisiana Highway 111. The crash claimed the life of Brian L. Hardwick, 62, of Leesville.

Initial Investigation Details

According to the preliminary investigation by State Police, Hardwick was walking in the roadway when he was struck by a southbound 2015 Lexus traveling on Louisiana Highway 117.

Troopers stated that Hardwick suffered fatal injuries as a result of the impact and was pronounced dead.

Crash Under Investigation

Louisiana State Police said routine toxicology tests are pending. These tests, which are standard in fatal crash investigations, are used to determine whether alcohol or drugs were a factor for any parties involved. Results typically take time to process and were not immediately available.

The crash remains under active investigation by Troop E. No further information about contributing factors, such as speed, lighting, or roadway conditions, has been provided at this stage.
