Louisiana Pedestrian Killed in Crash on LA 3125

Louisiana – Louisiana State Police stated on November 22, 2022, that on November 21, soon after 6:45 p.m., Troopers from LSP Troop A began investigating a single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on LA 3125 west of LA 642 in St. James Parish. Erin Reviere, 46, of Gramercy, Louisiana, died as a result of the crash.

The initial investigation found that a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling east in the left lane of LA 3125. At the same moment, Reviere, clothed in dark attire, moved south across LA 3125’s eastbound lanes. Reviere was struck by the Silverado for unknown reasons.

Reviere died as a result of his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Silverado driver was properly restrained and suffered no injuries in the incident. The driver of the Silverado is not suspected of being impaired, and police indicated that it is unknown at this time if the pedestrian was under the influence. Standard toxicological samples were collected from both the driver and the pedestrian and will be analyzed. This crash is still being investigated.

LSP indicated that pedestrians should always wear bright or light-colored clothing and reflective material to make themselves visible to automobiles. Pedestrians should always use sidewalks and, if none are available, walk as close to the roadway’s edge as possible while facing traffic. Always carry a flashlight when walking at night for increased safety.
