Jennings, Louisiana - A single-vehicle crash on LA Highway 26 near Trailer Town Road in Jefferson Davis Parish resulted in the death of a pedestrian early Monday morning, according to Louisiana State Police Troop D. Authorities identified the victim as Cody Moore, 38, of Jennings, Louisiana. The incident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. on June 30, 2025.

Preliminary findings indicate that Moore was walking in the northbound lane of LA Hwy 26 when a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado, also traveling north, struck him. Investigators have not yet determined why Moore was in the roadway or the circumstances that led to the crash. The driver of the Silverado was not wearing a seat belt at the time, but was not injured in the incident.

Officials collected standard toxicology samples from those involved, which have been submitted for laboratory analysis as part of ongoing investigative procedures.
